For years, Lawrence Duesman, a seasoned Ford tractor restorer from Fletcher, Okla., had wanted to shoehorn a V8 into a Ford 8N. When this 1952 8N became available, Lawrence launched into a complete restoration of the chassis and began the conversion to a Ford flathead V8 automobile engine.

The easy part was replacing the hood, grille and fenders with new ones. Not so easy was squeezing in four more cylinders while making them look like they belonged there. Doing all the work himself, Lawrence completed the conversion and restoration in just six months.
Since this project, Lawrence has done four more V8 and two Funk six-cylinder conversions on Ford N-series tractors. He has sold them all except this fine example.
