Kodiak Steel Homes

Kodiak Steel Homes are designed and engineered to withstand significant stress. In fact, the company has never received a report of one of its homes being seriously damaged by a natural disaster. Along with their exclusive manufacturer, NCI Group Inc., Kodiak produces homes that they’ve seen stand up to tornadoes, California wildfires, and even Hurricane Katrina in the nearby Gulf Coast.
The homes are designed and engineered at the Kodiak offices in Arkansas, then built in pre-fabricated components in Texas by NCI, who manufactures the steel components for Kodiak. The components can then be shipped to customers anywhere and assembled easily.
“Any contractor in America and a lot of do-it-yourselfers can build our homes,” says John House, President and CEO of Kodiak Steel Homes, “Our [homes are] pre-engineered [and] can be built easily and economically.”
Kodiak offers more than 20 different models for customers to choose from and customers can put their own unique touches on whichever model they select. Some of the options include moving doors or windows, changing floor plans, and picking material for roofing and siding. The steel for these homes comes from recycled material and allows for little waste since unused material can be recycled further. Using steel also ensures no rotting, molding, or termite damage on a structure.
Houses can range in size from 600 to 4,500 square feet. In special cases, though, such as Arkansas’s own Duggar family of “19 Kids and Counting” on TLC, Kodiak will bend the rules (the Duggars purchased a 7,000 square foot home).
House was also interviewed by CNN’s John Foreman for the network’s “Building up America” series and featured in Arkansas Business, among many other publications and websites.
