Great way to use your Venison!

In order to maintain my marital harmony, a good German dish is necessary to balance the scales. This dish is an excellent one on its own, but is delicious with any meat dish. We like it with bratwurst and knockwurst on the grill.

Thanks to my years in New Mexico, I’ve managed to extend my Irish love of potatoes to some really good home cooking, New Mexican style.

Easy to make and delicious!

This is wonderful on toast, or served as a side dish.

Pico de gallo is one of our favorite condiments, and is made every couple of days in my home. We use it on just about everything. Quite obviously, it pares very nicely with tortilla chips, but it can be spooned on top of scrambled eggs, on top of tacos or grilled chicken, in wraps, with beans, on top of a cheese quesadilla. If there is pico
de gallo in our refrigerator, we find a way to use it. The very smell of it sends me into ecstasy. This is best made and used within 24 hours as the sugars begin to break down and it becomes very soupy. Try this recipe, your life will never be the same again!

An odd name - but a great taste. (Roadkill not actually required!)

This recipe is from an old mamacita, who was a neighbor of mine when I lived in New Mexico. Once I made this recipe I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Now I freeze most of my excess corn to make this throughout the year:

This recipe sounds very odd...but it is very delicious and makes an extremely large portion! It's a great crowd pleaser!

Call it frozen custard, call it gelato-by any name this smooth and intensely flavored frozen dessert is fantastic. You can freeze the custard in an old-fashioned ice cream maker using ice and salt, but it's absolutely effortless in one of the new electric machines. Do remember to pre-freeze the container portion of the ice cream maker.
