2010 North American Raspberry & Blackberry Conference
The North American Raspberry & Blackberry Association will be hosting the 2010 North American Raspberry & Blackberry Conference Preview February 24th - February 26th.
The North American Raspberry & Blackberry Association was incorporated in the state of New York in 1985 as the North American Bramble Growers Association. The name was changed in January 2008.
Members of the North American Raspberry & Blackberry Association are from 34 states, 8 Canadian provinces and 5 countries and come from the following industries: growers, researchers, extension workers, nurseries, suppliers, marketers and others associated with the raspberry and blackberry industry.
The schedule of events is as follows:
Wednesday, February 24th: A full day tour, visiting locations in the Watsonville area, the heart of the California caneberry industry, including lunch at Gizdich Farms. In the evening, we'll have an Opening Reception at the hotel. The tour will return in time for participants to attend the reception.
Thursday, February 25th: A full day of talks and breakout sessions. NARBA's annual meeting will take place during lunch. Dinner will be on your own, with many dining options to choose from in Monterey.
Friday, February 26th: A day with more presentations and breakout sessions, wrapping these up at noon. The afternoon will offer two tours: The Berry Science Tour will include visits to Driscoll's Tissue Culture Lab and the UC Pomology Field Station, where strawberry cultivar trials are held. The California Ag Tour will explore other parts of California's agriculture, such as the production of lettuce and broccoli production in Salinas, artichokes and wineries.
