Chicago: Best Place to Spend St. Patty's Day
Chicago has long been regarded as the best and most festive place to go for a true St. Patty’s day celebration. You can’t get more Irish than the traditional bag pipes coming down the annual parade route. There are activities and attractions to keep you hoping all weekend long.This year the annual St. Patrick’s parade will be held on Saturday March 13, 2010. When you see the river turning green you know it is time to celebrate! Each year the city of Chicago dyes the river green at 10:45 the day of the parade so it is emerald when the parade starts at noon. The parade starts at Balbo and Columbus. The parade units will proceed north on Columbus Drive and the viewing stand will be located in front of Buckingham Fountain.If you ever wanted to experience life of the Irish this is the place to go and stay for the whole weekend. There is plenty to do over the weekend from the Parade, the World Kitchen Events, Shed Aquarium, a visit to the Pier and so much more. Chicago always has a plethora of activities to participate in.
